The NDIS is committed to supporting participants in a way that facilitates their independence and skill building.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme is a new Government initiative. This provides funding for people with disability more choice by increased control and flexibility through their NDIS Plan.
NDIS – Capacity Building (CB) - Services We Offer
This will be done by providing a No Charge service to client (Paid for by the NDIS by participants NDIS Plan), in House Cleaning, Gardening and Property maintenance (Handyman Duties) to disadvantaged people in our community that need our assistance in the local community.
We will be able to teach people with disabilities through this to learn how to clean, garden and general maintenance with one Carer and up to three participants.
The participants will be learning how to do this whilst also providing a service to the community. These are daily life skills which is also promoted by NDIS Plans, which is further encouraging. Working with other peers and people in the community assists them in socialising and building independence. It will also educate the community members of what people with disabilities are actually able to do.
The participants can use this knowledge of what they have learnt with house cleaning, gardening and general maintenance. One or all of these things most people take for granted but people with disabilities may not know how to do. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if they could proudly show off their skills by helping in their own family these duties. Giving them a sense of pride and satisfaction, help Mum and/or Dad with the house jobs in an environment their Carer can monitor them.
Once competent in these, there is an option for paid employment through our Social Enterprise Employment.
